Forth Week in July

This week we closed on a refinance of our home. We have been very fortunate to sustain good value for our home and needed a better loan than the one we were able to get when we first moved in.

We had a great vacation at Tammy and Steve’s over the weekend and arrived back home late Tuesday. We all had a great time. We really appreciate the hospitality and time together we were able to enjoy. It was nice to have Grandpa and Wayne there too. I enjoyed watching Grandpa get to know the girls and interact with them. The girls enjoyed the experiences; although I tend to think Abby was most excited by watching the Disney channel (we don’t get any fancy channels).

We had great news come while in Cheyenne. Eric was offered a part time position, which he accepted, as a part time ESL technician at the elementary school where I teach. This means he will be working with students who are learning English. He will also have the duties of translating at school functions such as registration, back to school night and parent/teacher conferences. Although it’s not the ideal position Eric wanted, we are excited he has work and can stay connected to teaching. Abby was a little aghast a few days ago when she realized that Daddy and Mommy were working at the same school and she will also be attending Kindergarten there. Rees Elementary is now the Green’s school. The look on Abby’s face was priceless. Hopefully the task of setting the boundaries and respect at school will not be too difficult.

We enjoyed celebrating Pioneer day on Friday, July 24th. Eric started the day with the Speedy Spaniard 10K run that Spanish Fork sponsors. Then we watched the city’s parade with my relatives. The girls liked the candy that was thrown at this parade, but the entries certainly didn’t compare to Cheyenne’s parade. We spent the evening with my family to celebrate the holiday and two siblings who had birthdays in July.
