We had a pretty good week. Our exciting news of the week is that we have decided to pursue adoption. On Wednesday we went to a meeting with LDS Services and started the paperwork. It will likely be a few months before we are approved, but thought we’d let you know now. We’ve told parents and a few siblings, but thought this the most efficient way to let everyone know. (We understand it’s not the most personal way) One of the ways we’ve been told that adoption happens for many families is through connections. So, if you happen across such an opportunity, we’d love to be mentioned. This can be a long process. It may take years for a birth couple to choose us to adopt their child. (of course we hope it won’t be that long) We will keep you informed as we see the need, but please understand that we won’t be sharing every detail or every time we are considered due to the emotional roller coaster of the process.
On Wednesday evening, we all went to school for family reading night. We were able to read in the hallway together and then watch a magic show performed by Ronald McDonald. Ronald was quite a disappointment, but we had fun as a family anyway. Abby is becoming quite a proficient reader and read one of her favorite books to her class on Friday for “Show and Teach.”
Sarah’s good news is that she wasn’t sick this week! She’s losing more of her baby talk words, which is a little sad, but we know she does have to grow up. The biggest one we noticed is that she now says “other one” instead of “awoderone.” Sarah is loving her "CBPlayer" MP3 player she received at Christmas. She has primary songs on it and she can be heard each night singing her heart out to Follow The Prophet.
Love,
Eric, Melissa and Girls

I'll be praying for you guys. I have a few friends here in Oregon who have gone through the adoption process and it can be hard at times. Hang in there though and things will work out. I will definitely keep you in mind if I hear of anything!
